Belize’s Tourism Gold Standard Certification Program
Villa Rising Sun is a certified Gold Standard hotel. In addition to this certification, we are one of two facilities in Belize to have also been awarded the prestigious Caribbean Travelers Health Assurance Stamp and WTTC Safe Travels Stamp. This ensures all our guests have a safe and healthy experience while visiting Belize. Our staff is fully vaccinated.
Masks are required when in public spaces but not while at Villa Rising Sun; however, we will always wear a mask to protect you. While in country facemasks are mandatory in all public spaces except our many restaurants and on aquatic tours. You are advised to practice social distancing, proper hand hygiene and to protect yourself as well as others you may come in contact with.
BEFORE YOUR VISIT
- Effective August 9th, 2021 all travelers, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, entering Belize through the Philip Goldson International Airport from other countries will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test.
- A negative result of a Covid-19 PCR test taken within 96 hours of travel or a negative result from any approved Antigen Rapid Test taken within 48 hours of travel is required.
Children under the age of 5 years will not be required to present a negative test
- If you do not bring a test one will be administered at the airport for $50USD.
Walgreens is everywhere and now providing 24 hour PCR test results.

The Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that it will require a negative COVID-19 test from all passengers arriving in the United States as of January 26th 2021.
